A message from Neil Jagger

Chief Operating Officer, Reach Nationals

"Why oh why did I ever volunteer to do a tandem skydive?

As I drove towards Sibson airfield on a beautiful sunny day, it would be fair to say I was VERY apprehensive, but I'd raised quite a lot of money for Newstraid and had to go through with it. My nerves started to subside when I met up with my fellow Newstraid jumpers at the airfield including 4 of my work colleagues from the Daily Mirror. We had our briefing and training and then I was called to get my parachute and get on the plane. 15 minutes later I was free-falling with my tandem partner (who was a professional by the way!) at ridiculous speeds from 13,000 feet - and there is not a feeling in the world quite like it. Exhilarating, awesome, mind-blowing - any superlative you want to choose. Parachute opens, we float down gently back to terra firma - and the first thing I want to do is go straight back up and do it again.

If you're jumping, you'll love it. If you're considering it, just do it."
